Abstract

This presentation shows that CACF is a promising method for EOR in heavy oil reservoirs. The proposed model can capture important physics occurring in the CACF process with good history matching results against different coreflood experiments. Simulation results are consistent with UTCHEM chemical flooding research simulator. The recovery by CACF can be as high as ASP flooding without the need of surfactant injection. CACF can be applied at relatively low temperatures:
–Eliminate the large amount of water required for steam generation

–Reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with thermal processes
