Abstract
Commonly used simple planar fractures overestimate the well productivity. Complex fractures lead to a lower cumulative production. If we want to return high production at the early period, hydraulic fractures with high conductivity are needed Compared with shale gas, matrix permeability of tight oil is much larger. The importance of the large-scale of fracture network also decrease. The idealization of hydraulic fractures in a simulator is in doubt, especially when conductivity is small.
