Abstract

This presentation introduces the importance of preventing the global warming by reduce CO₂ using CO₂ capture and sequestration (CCS), which is the critical enabling technology that would reduce CO₂ emissions significantly. CCS is a process consisting of separation of CO₂ from industrial and energy-related sources, transporting to a storage location, and long-term isolation from the atmosphere. Then author introduces the main mechanism of the geological CO₂ storage and the acceleration of the CO₂ dissolution, and his future research direction.
