Abstract
This presentation shows that secondary and tertiary recovery process techniques help to enhance oil recovery. Waterflooding, polymer flooding and gel treatment can be affected by crossflow between reservoir layers and gravity segregation. A gel treatment helps to increase oil production for heavy oil field. The permeability reduction properties, adsorption of gel, concentration of reactants and injection time have influences on the performance of a gel treatment. A gel treatment has impressive economic benefits in certain conditions when applied to a heavy oil field.
