Abstract

This presentation shows a derived analytical model which can identify the connate water thermal expansion flow in SAGD. Convection can deliver relatively large amount of the total heat transferred to cold oil sands. The percentage of heat convection in the total heat transfer is less sensitive to steam temperature and can be relatively improved by low connate water saturation.
