Abstract

In this work, a detailed simulation model, validated by a Eagle Ford well, is developed to investigate effects of adsorption and geomechanics on productions.  we can see that adsorption slightly increases both gas and oil productions during primary recovery and CO2 cycling injection. Adsorption can be neglected in high pressure shale reservoirs. Geomechanics significantly controls initial gas rates. A hysteresis compaction-dilation model is more physical, and should be included in any fluid-injection reservoir model. A more comprehensive and implicit geomechanical model will be implemented. Different production behaviors among lean condensate, rich condensate and wet gas reservoirs will be discussed.
