Abstract:

This presentation shows that the proposed mechanistic ASP modeling approach can capture the important physics occurring in ASP flooding;  The new model provides excellent history matching results against various corefloodings using complex chemical formulations for both light and heavy oils; The fast and robust algorithms allow ASP modeling at field scale; Not limited to ASP flooding, the proposed model can be extended to model different emerging recovery processes; Hybrid low salinity ASP flooding shows a superior performance in comparison with the conventional ASP flooding; Hybrid low salinity ASP flooding can be applied in both green and brown oil fields; The robust optimization workflow by considering multiple geological realizations simultaneously is useful to capture the reservoir heterogeneity.
