Abstract:

In this presentation,  the scaling groups governing the process of EHOR by chemical flooding are derived using inspectional analysis and validated by numerical simulation and sandpacktests. Sensitivity analysis results show that the mobility ratio is the most important factor affecting EHOR by chemicals. It can also been seen that polymer flooding can effectively increases heavy oil recovery and there is a generalized correlation between incremental recovery and polymer viscosity. Incremental oil recovery correlates well with pressure drop.  Sandpackand micromodeltests show that low IFT is not always good for heavy oil recovery. Linear stability analysis proves that higher IFT will refrain the development of instability during heavy oil displacement.
