Abstract

This presentation analyzed the steady-state foam properties and confirm the positive effects of fine foam texture, smaller gas velocity, larger foam quality and lower temperature on foam viscosity. It also analyzed the foam generation (with and without nitrogen) and foam collapse (surfactant degradation, capillary suction and oil droplets) mechanisms and incorporate the mechanisms into a simulation model and O/W emulsification and its influences on oil drainage and incorporate the mechanisms into the simulation model.  It figured out how surfactants, steam bubbles and O/W emulsions distribute in the simulation model and their impacts on oil production
