Load Balancing Strategies for Parallel Reservoir Simulators

In this work, space-filling curve method is studied; Encoding and decoding algorithms for high dimensional spaces are proposed; Partitioning quality is compared among several partitioning methods. It shows that Hilbert SFC partitioning method has good partitioning quality; Simulations using Hilbert SFC partitioning method have excellent scalability. Here linear scalability is obtained on IBM Blue Gene/Q supercomputer.
