Abstract:

In this work, methodology to identify and analyze NFR with fractal geometry with no matrix
participation  was defined. Equations to compute Kwands for NFR with fractal geometry were
defined. For these type of reservoirs the fracture density and connectivity between fractures,
play an important role on production performance. If these types of reservoirs are still treated as
euclidean geometry reservoirs; a poor understanding related to the fracture density and their
connectivity is obtained, resulting in:
1.Unproductive wells.
2.Very optimistic production forecast.
3.Inefficient enhanced oil recovery methods.
