Abstract:

In this work, we built a LSW analytical model and well validated it with the experimental data. Based on the model we have the following conclusions:

(1) Compared with conventional water flooding, the LSW at the beginning can postpone

the water breakthrough and increase the oil recovery;

(2) The LSW after the conventional waterflooding can further increase the oil recovery;

(3) An injection rate should not be larger than the maximum injection rate corresponding

to the zero critical retention concentration of attached particles; For a reservoir with

large porosity, it is easier to control the injection rate;

(4) Lower oil residual saturation caused by lower salinity benefits in oil recovery;

(5) A higher formation damage coefficient leads to lower water saturation in oil bank.
